Dear Dave, Roberta & Toby,

I was informed of Nathan's passing by way of email from Rhonda last week. I am deeply saddened by his death and grieve with you during this time. I can't imagine the loss you feel from losing a part of your family like this. Although I know Nathan had been in trouble the past several years, it's never something you expect to happen. We lost my uncle Bruce (Mom's brother) to alcoholism in April 2014 suddenly. As a result, I decided later that year to break the cycle of addiction and have been ever sober since.

Nathan and I shared a lot of laughs together. I know deep in his heart he wanted to change and was a good person. He just dealt with his emotions in a way that was destructive. I know because that was me 10 years ago.

Despite the fact that I am no longer a part of your lives, I wanted you to know you're in my thoughts and prayers. God knew Nathan's heart and his struggle and I believe you will see him again.
