Shirley Anna Kramer, 90, of Melrose Park, IL, passed away on April 27, 2021, from dementia.
Visitation will be 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at the Northlake Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Concordia Cemetery, Forest Park, IL.
Shirley was born in Chicago on September 21, 1930. She graduated from Harrison Technical High School in 1948. After graduation she worked at Sears Roebuck & Company as a Special Case Worker for 13 years before “retiring” to dedicate herself to becoming a mommy and taking care of her growing family.
Shirley was married to the love of her life Fredrick on March 11, 1949. They were married 50 years before Fred passed in 1999. Shirley and Fred helped raise her younger siblings with her mother after her father passed. Throughout her life she was a giving woman who worked hard in helping others. She was our mentor, inspiration, caregiver and someone we will always be proud to call Daughter, Wife, Ma, Granny, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
Shirley loved to cook for everyone and if you left her table hungry it was your own fault. Anytime someone came to visit her, she would ask “did you eat yet?”, even if they said “yes”, she proceeded to feed them like she was cooking for an army.
Shirley is survived by her children Cynthia (Wayne) and Eric (Jina), grandchildren Michael, Patrick, Carly, Ashley, and Alex. Siblings Robert, Carol and Karen, many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Mildred Haack, siblings Violet, Arthur, Alice, and Richard.
