Nouphone Senemuongdong - dedicated husband, father of two, and friend of many - passed away on October 7, 2022, at the age of 77 at Gottleib Hospital in Melrose Park, IL.
Nouphone was born in Savannakhét, Laos and immigrated and settled in Franklin Park, IL. He served in the Royal Lao Army during the Vietnam War being a part of a helicopter team that provided search and rescue of downed US pilots in Laos territory. He and his team were tasked with the extraction and the return of US pilots back to allied territory in South Vietnam. With his actions during the Vietnam war, he was granted refugee status and was brought to the United States after the war concluded at which Laos would fall to the communist party.
Through the years, Nouphone lived a humble life working and providing for his family. He would love to frequent the zoo with his wife in his spare time. He worked as an upholster for Interior Design in Chicago, IL. After retirement he would continue to apply his craft to rebuilding and re-upholstering various chairs and sofas as a hobby to keep himself busy.
Nouphone was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Ratda Somsanith. He is survived by his son, Dennis, and his daughter, Joanne and husband David and numerous cousins.
No memorial service will be held at this time. The family will have a memorial service later, where he and his wife are to be scattered together.
