Loretta Draxten Obituary

Loretta R. Draxten (nee Silenzi)

Loretta died August 11, 2022. Loretta is survived by her three children David, Diane (Charles) and Dana (Dan) as well as four grandchildren and her beloved great grandchildren. She also held a special place in her heart for her loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend Laurel. She is preceded in death by her parents, Adele and Joseph, her stepfather Cyrus along with her brother Anthony and her sister Joanne.

Loretta loved to travel and her spirituality inspired her to visit various Holy Lands around the world; Rome, Bethlehem, Lourdes, and Fatima. She loved life and adventure wherever it took her.

Loretta had a vivacious personality and a love for all creatures. Always surrounded by her many pets over the years. Her compassion for animals extended to those living in the wild also. She wanted to help any creature, in any way, who may have suffered harm or injury through natural or man-made forces.

Her life was full of artistic expressions. She played in the Orchestra in High school and later coming together with various family members with their musical instruments for an impromptu jam session full of fun and laughs. Her later years were full of drama as she often took part in many of the plays Concord Place produced.

She dabbled with ceramics, painting and often volunteering her drawing talents for various church projects. She designed the weekly bulletin for some the church’s special events, and the Nativity display outside the church during the Holidays. She often donated cakes she made and elegantly decorated for the Bake Sale which were prized works of art.

As she wished, her physical body was destined for science while her spiritual soul will remain with our Lord for eternity.
