Joseph Linares Obituary

Joseph Uriel Linares (a.k.a. Joe, Jokker) passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 42 in his hometown Chicago. He had succumbed to the difficulties of his severe health condition. He fought his hardest and tried not to display the pain he was in, so as to not make others suffer with him. He is survived by Maria Silvia Otero his mother, Emanuel A. Leyva his oldest brother, Crystal Otero his sister, Michael A. Otero his youngest brother, Emanuel A. Leyva Jr. His oldest nephew/godson, Elias A. Leyva his nephew/godson, Aliyah M. Edwards his oldest niece, Elijah A. Leyva his youngest nephew, Emilia A. Leyva his youngest niece.

As a child, Joe was a kind soft-hearted kid who loved to run around and laugh with his best friend/brother Manny. In his later years, he may have gotten into some trouble as young people do; but it never took away from his true nature to be there for those he truly loved.

In Joe’s later years, he spent a lot of time serving up smiles at his favorite job Starbucks. His 20 years there made a unique impression on all, but maybe one of his proudest moments was taking his youngest brother Michael under his wing and showing him that you can change someone's day one cup at a time. His fondest memories came from spending time with his family being the center of laughs. To have known him and called him family/friend was a true honor.
