Jane Turskey Obituary

Jane Marie Lillian Turskey

Jane Turskey of Northlake, IL passed peacefully into Heaven on June 19, 2021.  Jane is survived by her loving husband Wayne Turskey, her mother Jeanne Niemczyk, her siblings Jim (Marcy) Niemczyk, Bob (Karen) Niemczyk, Kris (Dan) Jorgensen and Joe (Carey) Niemczyk.   She will be terribly missed by her 9 adoring nieces and nephews:  Brandon, Megan, Kevin, Nathaniel, Gabrielle, Joey, Ben, Sarah and Jack and her great nieces and nephew: Miles, Athena and Spencer.

She also leaves behind her treasured bonus family Angela Turskey, Erica Shapiama, Matthew (Sarah) Turskey and Michael (Samantha)Turskey and her special grandchildren: Raymond, Antonio, Alexis, Stephan, Katelyn, Penelope, Eleanor, and Austin. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Niemczyk and her grandparents, John and Lillian Niemczyk and Henry and Marcella Gelinas.

Jane was born April 7, 1964 in Chicago, IL.  Growing up, Jane loved spending the summers up in Peshtigo, WI at "The Cottage."  She loved mermaid baths under the Cleopatra tree, petting the horses at Harper's Farm, visiting the animals at Hennis Park, Pine Hill Ice Cream Shop visits and Mickey-Lu-Bar-B-Q.  Her organization and planning skills were apparent even early on as she orchestrated her siblings shoveling snow and playing games.  She LOVED to plan parties of all kinds. Birthdays, holidays and pig roasts were her specialties. She was always behind the scenes helping and managing things but never wanting to take the credit or step into the limelight.

Jane graduated from Maine West High School and in April of 1989 began working for The Glen HealthCare Network.  While there, Jane was referred to by Mr. G (Glenner) as his right AND LEFT hand.  Jane was devoted to her job in the healthcare business and was well liked by everyone she worked with.  She was highly efficient and paid close attention to details.  After working there 32 years, Jane was not only an important part of the team, she was like family.  Mr. G says that Jane is well loved by all his family and Jane referred to him 'like another dad'.

Jane officially joined the Turskey family when she married Wayne on September 24th, 2010.  She also received 4 bonus children and 5 grandchildren at that time, more were to come.  Adding to a family after divorce is not easy, and this was no exception.  However, it did not take long for all of us, including who Jane referred to as her "sister wife" Debra Jensen & Otto to all be one big family.  On that end we were different, not perfect but we always did what was best for the family.  Family, and that included some of Jane's close friends, meant the world to her.

She loved many things:

Wayne

Her family, especially her nieces, nephews and grandchildren

Her friends

College sports

Really rare steak

Her mom's dumplings and dill gravy

She was fiercely loving, caring and protective of her family and friends. Your joys were her joys and your sorrows were her sorrows. We know she has gone on to Heaven, but her love continues to surround us and we will miss her always.
