Harold Dennis

Harold Dennis, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully in June 2024. He was 84 years old.
Born on the East Coast, Harold graduated from Hartford Public High School, and then went on to earn Engineering degrees from Lincoln College and Elmhurst College.
Harold’s journey started when he moved to Massachusetts where he started work at Sylvania Electronics, which led to an opportunity in suburban Chicago. In the early 1970’s, Harold relocated for work, which is where he met the love of his life of 52 years, Nita, after tripping over her feet at a party. Four months later, they exchanged vows in the summertime. Following their marriage, Harold and Nita eventually chose to settle locally to raise their family.
Harold’s greatest joy came from simple moments he shared with his wife, children, and grandchildren, whether it was a nightly rummy and spades game with Nita and his boys, or sharing his favorite movies and music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his two half brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Nita, children Andrew (Lina) and Joseph (Ashley); four grandchildren - Grayson, Jewel, Henry, and Cora; and his beloved cat.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Northlake Funeral home with funeral service starting from the same location on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 12:30 PM and ending in River Grove. Harold loved life and quality time with his family, and was claimed much too soon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Harold’s name to the American Cancer Society.
