Caroline Banks Obituary

Caroline Banks was born on April 17, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Thomas and Bernice Banks.

She grew up in Maywood, Illinois, where she was educated in the grammar schools and graduated from Proviso East High School.  She was the world’s greatest cheerleader and an excellent student, which filled her life with learning and joy. During this time, she was a faithful member of Metropolitan Church of Christ Holiness Sunday School under the leadership of Elder M. Williams.  Her love for the Lord inspired her to lead Sunday school services; teaching, writing, and coordinating children’s ministries.

Upon her graduation, she chose to serve in the United States Navy where she excelled as a Communications Specialist. Her time in the service allowed her to travel the world where she left an indelible mark.  She was proud of her service to her country and had the honor of communicating with the President of the United States of America.

Caroline was a dedicated employee of McMaster-Carr in Northlake, Illinois. She influenced leadership and fellow employees to wear pastel in celebration of her birthday. A tradition that her family lovingly shares.

Her life ended suddenly on Monday, September 12, 2022, in Bellwood, Illinois.  While her light no longer shines in this world, the impact of her light, love and legacy continues to shine and will do so for years to come!  She fills the spaces of our hearts and minds with memories too many to name that we will forever cherish.

Crafting was her calling and allowed her to use these skills to mold, shape and bring beauty to the lives of others.  She was a friend to all and loved her family and friends not only in word and deeds but with her whole heart.

She will be sorely missed and leaves to cherish her memory: her partner, Rodney;  her sisters, Denise, Beryl (Charles); brothers, William (Ada), Randolph (Lakiesha); numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
