Alexandrina Brattan Obituary

Alexandrina "Nana" Brattan was born on May 16, 1944, just outside of Bucharest, Romania. She had an older brother. She became a high school chemistry teacher in Romania.

One day, Alexandrina went to get her hair done at a hair salon that her future husband worked at helping his dad. His name was Alexandru "Richard" Brattan. He was also born on May 16th, but 1933 instead, 11 years apart.

Alexandrina and Richard got married in August 1968. They had a daughter, Laura, who was born on March 19, 1975. Nana, Richard, and Laura moved to the United States in August 1977, when Elvis Presley died. She loved music and listening to  Pavarotti and Elvis. Those were her favorite. Both Nana and Richard got a job at GTE on the same day.

Her daughter Laura eventually got married to Jason Hester, and had 2 kids of their own, Amanda and Ashley. When Nana found out that she was gonna be a grandma, she filled her closet with baby clothes. She retired to help take care of her grandkids, who she loved very very much.

We always got together for every holiday and birthday. She enjoyed decorating the house for any occasion, especially Christmas and the kids birthday. The kids would go over and help her decorate. She also loved flowers and gardening. Every summer she was outside in the yard taking care of her flowers. Then she would always want to take pictures with her grandkids and the flowers.

Alexandrina had a stroke on May 24, 2021, one week after their birthday. It took everyone by surprise and changed our lives.

She was left paralyzed from the stroke on her whole right side. Nana couldn't walk or talk anymore. She passed away on Tuesday. October 5, 2021. She died with her husband's hands on her heart. Alexandrina and Richard were married for 53 years. Day and night they were together, never apart. Her husband always said she was like an angel, and now he lost his angel. Heaven gained an angel.
