Robert Anthony Halaj, 64 of Chicago, passed away Oct. 1, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Robert is a legendary blues bassist who performed with Big Twist & the Mellow Fellows, Chicago Rythym & Blues Kings and Studebaker John & the Hawks. He traveled worldwide and is featured on numerous recordings. Dear son of the late Chester and Mary; beloved brother of Diane (Lenny) Kapka; fond uncle of Brian (Rena) Kapka & Tracy (Michael) Meyer; great-uncle of Matthew, Allyson & Hailey; cousin of many. Family & friends will meet 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at St. Daniel the Prophet Church, 6612 W. 54th Street (at Nashville), Chicago. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
