Monique Bruns, 75, longtime resident of Oak Park, passed away January 6, 2021. Born in Angouleme, France, Monique was the first child christened in her birth town following the American liberation of France. When she was 2 years old, her parents brought her to the United States. After attending Knox College, she worked for the Illinois Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. She then went on to the University of Illinois earning her Masters Degree in Architecture. She is now retired for 12 years from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Monique is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Constantine Bruns and two sisters, Arlene Dixon and Patricia Adrian.

A Service of Remembrance is anticipated later in the spring.
