Marilyn R. Ribandt 83 of Fort Wayne was called home by her Heavenly Father Monday Sept 20 at Parkview Regional Medical Center Fort Wayne. Born Jan. 25 1938 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ruth (Wiedenhoeft) Fiebig. She graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School. She worked at Dr. C. W. Dahling's office after graduation. After that she lived in Minneapolis, MN., Chicago, IL and Waupaca, WI before moving back to Fort Wayne. She married Joseph Ribandt on March 17, 1984. With that marriage, she became the stepmother to Joe's three children, Joy, Mark, and Michael Ribandt. After Retirement, Joe and Marilyn lived in a home on Columbia Lake in Waupaca, WI. And they loved to travel during their years together. Joe passed away 2018 and Marilyn moved back to Fort Wayne to be near family. During her time back here she got to reconnect with her brother Ron and his wife Gale and she enjoyed being at the lake with her niece and her family on weekends. If there was a football game on TV that involved the Bears or Packers, she was usually watching. During the summer, she watched the Cubs. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Marilyn is survived by her brother Ron (Gale) Fiebig and her niece Pamela (Brian) Freeman step children Joy (Steve) Blatt, Mark Ribandt, Michael Ribandt, Daughter in law Kim Ribandt. great nieces Madison and Lauren Freeman, grandchildren Joshua Taylor, Ryan and Tyler Ribandt, and Jessica (Brian) Boisvert, great grandchild Carter Boisvert. Marilyn will be greatly missed as the opinionated, silly, laughing and loving stepmother, sister and aunt.
Visitation Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Northlake Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Committal Service with burial will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst, IL.
If desired, preferred memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran church or school, Fort Wayne IN.
