Mariana Garcia, (nee de Jesus Perez Espinosa), age 80 of Chicago, beloved wife of the late Eduardo Garcia

passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, with her loving family by her side.

Born on September 8,1943, in Quito, Ecuador, she was the daughter of the late Gonzolo and Carmen (Espinosa) Perez.

Mariana worked for many years as a Nanny before retiring to help raise her grandchildren.  A loving and devoted

mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and especially her beloved dog, Star.

Mariana "Mama" will be remembered by those who knew her as one whose heart and compassion were as large as the love

shared with everyone she met.  Her home was always open to those in need, providing a warm meal, a listening ear, or a place to stay.

Mama had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.

Surviving are her three sons, Luis (Erenia) Perez, Freddy (Silvia) Merchan, Douglas (Victoria) Garcia;

Grandchildren Sofia, Luis, Luis Mitchell, Ayanna, Cynthia, Jordan, Emmanual;

Great grandchildren Emilia, Luca, and Alaia; God son Hugo Avalos; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Friday, May 31, 2024, 5 PM -8 PM at Northlake Funeral Home, 140 E. North Avenue, Northlake, IL  60164.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless.
