Visitation for Mr. Manuel E. Serna will be Friday, September 10, 2021 from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church, Northlake. Committal Service with Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Manuel E. Serna of Melrose Park, Illinois passed away on Wednesday,  September 8th, 2021. He was born in Calvillo, Mexico on August 24th, 1922 to parents Bruno Serna and Margarita Esqueda.  He was married in 1951 in Chicago, Illinois to Josephine.  He belonged to the Catholic Knights of Columbus men's fraternal organization with a long tradition of christian fellowship and volunteer work.  Manuel loved vegetable gardening, fruit tree propagation, cultivating grapes preserved for year round consumption.  He enjoyed woodworking and took classes at the local college. Manuel is survived by his wife Josephine, sons Steven, David, & Joseph; Grandchildren Naomi, Santiago, Natalie and Anais; sisters Ana Maria, Socorro, Elvira, brothers Padre Casimiro, Benjamin, Rodrigo.  He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Isabel, Josephina, brothers Gregorio and Jose.
