I am heartbroken to announce the passing of my father, James Paul Lips. He passed away peacefully at the age of 70.
My dad was most at home on his bike; rather it be on a bike trail, Lake Shore Drive, or any national park he could get to. Despite our Chicago winters, he was a true Parrot Head at heart and belonged on a beach with sand between his toes, the sun on his back, and of course; finest Hawaiian shirt. He loved his Notre Dame fighting Irish, as well as the Chicago Cubs. He looked forward to a daily dose of Jeopardy! and could be heard shouting "THIS IS JEOPARDY!" from the driveway. He even had the shirt and hat to match. We had some pretty good rounds going back and forth.
He will be truly missed as a father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
