Binu was born on May 20, 1967 in Kerala, India to the late M. Cheriyan and Chinnamma Cheriyan of the Palamoottil family, Pathanapuram. He studied at St. Stephens College, where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1992, he married Jolly Thomas of Mattappallil (Kallumuriyil) family, Omalloor, and immigrated to the United States the following year. They raised their three sons, Allen, Alvin, and Austin in Illinois on a foundation of faith, family, and love. Binu was a hard worker who dedicated over 25 years of service to FedEx. He made a lasting impression on his co-workers and everyone he encountered.

Binu was an avid musician. He demonstrated his love for Christ through music by serving the community as the lead guitarist for the St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church Malayalam choir. He even inspired his own son to follow in his footsteps. Binu lived life to the fullest. He loved traveling, golfing, biking, playing tennis, and spending time with his family and friends.

Binu entered into eternity on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the age of 55. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Jolly, his sons (Allen, Alvin, and Austin), his sister, Mini, her husband, Reji, and his niece and nephew (Reneeta and Richard).
