Ella Mae Sheptick, 93 of Northlake IL departed this world for heaven on September 14th, 2017. Ella was born in Chickasaw Oklahoma on May 23rd 1924.

With her family, she later moved to Gilbert Arizona and stayed there until she graduated high school. Soon after high school graduation, she accompanied her cousin Lorraine on a cross country adventure to Chicago to visit Lorraine's boyfriend before he shipped out overseas during WWII.

Ella soon met her future husband, Alex, and decided to spend the rest of her life in the Chicagoland area. Ella was an original "Rosie the Riveter" working long hours making engine parts for American fighter planes during the war.

Ella married Alex Sheptick on August 24th 1943. They were one of the early ones to settle in Northlake (North Ave was a two lane dirt road at the time) where they raised a son and three daughters. Ella often commented how blessed she was to have six siblings back west she was able to go visit. She was also grateful to have married into a family of thirteen siblings and to have so many wonderful lifelong neighbors. Family pool parties and gatherings were a regular part of life for them, where a deck of cards was sure to appear and laughter would accompany the games. Trips to Arizona, the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, and Caribbean Cruises made their lives adventuresome.  Square Dancing and gardening were Ella's favorite hobbies for many years.  Ella was active in and loved the Northlake community, volunteering at the local hospital and participating in the Seniors Liv it Up Club.

Her beloved husband Alex passed away on July 17th, 2003. Ella is survived by her loving family. Son Jerry (Nancy) Sheptick, daughters Sandy Beck, Debbie (Jeff) Tideman and Sharee (David) Sheptick. Granddaughters Dawn (Mike) Sharp, Nicole Sheptick and Tia Tideman. Great Grandchildren Katelynn, Travis, Alexandria and Logan Sharp and Rosalie Sheptick

Family and friends she left behind find comfort in knowing that Ella is now at peace in the hands of our Lord and happily reunited with her devoted husband, Alex.

Celebration of Life (family only) will be held on October 14th.
