Lura Mae Cabugnason

Lura Mae Futalan - Cabugnason, age 46, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at her residence in Melrose Park. She was born in Dumaguete City, Philippines, to Ramon "Doods" and Lucresia Futalan. She married Janixter Cabugnason on November 8, 2008 at Bishop's Palace in Dumaguete City, Philippines. She worked as a Physical Therapist in various healthcare companies displaying excellent mastery in caring for people with a genuine heart of compassion. Lura Mae truly lived her life to the fullest. Her melodious tunes and soulful renditions have left an indelible mark in our hearts. Lura's musical talent brought joy to all, and her legacy will forever echo through the songs she sang. 

Lura Mae had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Her generous heart have touched many people's lives and her simple pleasures; chatting with friends and relatives around here, singing. gardening, and spending time with her husband and four year old son, Jothan Luke, are her best memories. 

She is survived by her husband Janix, her mom Lucresia, her brother Remon, and son Jothan Luke; and many aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends and colleagues. 

Family, friends, and others whose lives Lura Mae touched are invited to Northlake Funeral Home, 140 East North Avenue in Northlake, from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Thursday & Friday, October 19 & 20, 2023 to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and of course, just chat. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 21 2023 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 46 North Wolf Road in Northlake.
