David Pershing, Sr.

We are saddened to announce the passing of David Lee Pershing, Sr. He passed away at the age of 81 on January 18th at home in Northlake, Il. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who was devoted to his family. 

David was born July 9th, 1942 in Springfield, Il to Fred and Irene Pershing. David was a veteran who served his country in the Vietnam war. He married his wife Linda on December 27th 1976. They celebrated 47 years of marriage this past December 2023.

David loved to read and was always ready to read any story to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved football, especially the Chicago Bears and Notre Dame. And he was a big Cubs fan. He had the biggest sweet tooth and would always love the treats the family would make or bring for him. Especially maple doughnuts from Dunkin Donuts, pineapple upside down cake and German chocolate cake.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Catherine "Irene" Krause Pershing, his brother Fred Louis Pershing, and sister Carol Ann Thompson. 

David is survived by his wife Herlinda (Acuna) Pershing of Northlake, his three children, Samuel (Sue) Morales, Diane (Michael) Kuhlmann, and David Lee (Janelle) Pershing Jr, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and his siblings, Rose Marie Huddleston, Mary Beth Bauger, and John Phillip Pershing.

As per David's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
